Openly gay male Country singer! Oh...and he is hot!

Steve Grand just released a single called “All-American Boy,” which will have you wanting to be his all-American boy after watching the video. The hopelessly romantic singer falls for a guy in a heterosexual relationship in the video. The two spend time together leading to skinny-dipping in a river and a kiss. Unfortunately, the attraction is only held by one of the characters. His lyrics are quite dreamy for his crush “He smiles, his arms around her but his eyes are holding me, just a captive to his wonder, ohh I say we go this road tonight.” This heartthrob singer may in fact be the first openly gay country singer. Steve produced all his own music, as he does not have a manager or label. He raised funds to pay for everything on his own by playing piano at a local joint and at a church.

Introducing you to Steve Grand, who today dropped his very first music video “All-American Boy” just in time for the Fourth of July.

The song will really hit home for anyone who has had a crush on their straight best friend, with lyrics like: “Now I know that that’s your girl, I mean no disrespect/ the way that shirt hugs your chest boy, I just won’t forget / I’ll be sittin here, drinking my whiskey /I won’t say goodnight unless I think ya might miss me, ohh / Be my All-American boy tonight.”

Grand posted this message on his Facebook fan page with a link to the music video:
Time to be brave. the world does not see change until it sees honesty. I am taking a risk here in many ways, but really there is no choice but to be brave. To not tell this story is to let my soul die. It is all I believe in. It is all I hold dear. We have all longed for someone we can never have… we all have felt that ache for our ‎all American boy!

I don’t have a manager or a label or any sort of funding other than the tip money I make playing piano downtown at The Joynt, and also, ironically to some, in the churches on Sunday morning… (we’ll see how long I’ll be singing “Glory to God” should this video see the light of day).

As far as the ascetic achievements of the video… lets just say I was lucky to have a good friend introduce me to the best team I could have asked for… who held on to the roller coaster that was this project and dealt with all my intensity and craziness as the true professionals they were.
I wrote the song during a drunken piano jam session at a party. I recorded the vocals in my parents basement and worked with my friend Max Steger: maxsteger.com to record and mix the rest of the instruments.
I feel like music industry people wouldn’t like the idea of me “pigeonholing” myself by telling this story as I have. But I don’t believe the world sees change until it sees honesty.
So I went in on my own.

I went all in. There is no Plan B. I’m nervous/excited/horrified/anxious about the implications all of the choices I am making (and have made throughout my journey of discovering myself as a man and as an artist) will have on my future. But then I remind myself I never really had a choice. This is the story I’ve been aching to tell my most of my life… it is what I hold dearest to me.
BUT my story would never have seen the light of day were it not for the kindness and generosity of so many that helped me through this process, many of whom asked for nothing in return. I know my passion and intensity for this project were a lot to deal with (that might be the understatement of the year).

Pop / country singer Steve Grand has just uploaded his first music video “All-American Boy” and people are loving it! The song is quite good. Please note that the singer, Steve Grand is a ripped muscle jock himself and hot as hell! Fratmen Taylor plays the straight guy Steve falls for.

I am a (selective) Country music fan, so I was excited to learn about Steve Grand on http://londoncallingluv.blogspot.com . Please tell others about him. He  deserves our  support and it will certainly give country music a much needed Shake, Rattle and Roll! Badly needed right now! There is a definite gay presence in country music but for the most part it is kept under wraps as a result of industry denial! Come on!...we all know who the big ol' country queens are!
